A Little Bit of Loose History
When you journey through the tales of history and religion, the recounts of “great” men, powerful rulers and prophets, what you will consistently find in the background of these tales is the presence of countless women, who served only to raise and reflect the status of these men.
King Soloman and his 700 wives.
Emperor Akbar with 300 wives.
Ramses II attaining more than 200 wives.
Genghis Khan collecting numerous wives and concubines as he conquered and pillaged massive territories.
The stories of these women, whose feminine energy was harvested in order to satisfy the egos of these powerful men, who’s abundant feminine presence made these men seem God-like to the lesser men who served under them in the hierarchy of male dominance, are largely lost to the records of history.
Of the women we do know of, they often met with tragic and violent ends, serving as scapegoats for the failures of their wealthy and powerful captors.
I’ve always been fascinated by the concept and depictions of harems. I will note that many depictions of harems are historically inaccurate, reducing these spaces down to sex dungeons for the pitiable women who were forced to inhabit them.
The reality is that many harems, especially during the Ottoman Empire, were essentially dorms for the many female servants—domestic and sexual—of the house. The concubines were often ranked—keeping in line with the hierarchal nature of patriarchy—based on their favor with the Sultan or Emperor or high status male, and may have had some dealings in politics, especially if they came from a region that served their owner politically.
What truly fascinates me about the harems of the past is how they were the inverse reflection of the great sacred temples of our Matriarchal ancestresses. If you don’t know by now, patriarchy is the anti life-inversion of natural order and ceremony.
During the existence of Matriarchal/matrifocal societies, these sacred spaces inhabited by women were temples of spiritual education, initiation, healing, autonomous pleasure, and ritual.
The presence of men was forbidden.
As the patriarchal parasites of the past slowly spread their disease across the land, they colonized and bastardized women’s spaces and practices, claiming them as their own, and reconfiguring the rituals and structure to suit their own egoic desires.
Sacred spaces that once belonged solely to women, were now cages for women that belonged solely to men.
So these spaces, harems as they become known as, which means forbidden or sacred, were reduced to in-house communities, where each woman—and the eunuchs who guarded them—were educated in the ways of lifelong servitude, whether through domestic labor or sexual exploitation. Or both.
When I think of these spaces and all of the women who experienced the confines of those walls, I think of how much wisdom was lost, voices stifled, Divine Feminine rituals abandoned, and dreams that dissipated to nothing.
An Invitation of Reclamation
So much of my work in serving the rise of The Divine Feminine, our Great Mother, is about reclamation of what was stolen. I honor this in language as much as I can. So many words have been flipped and inverted in their meaning and expression, causing us to lose sight of what once was before it was stolen from the original stewardesses of this planet, women.
I’ve been in the process of gestating a new offering, a space where women can gather to reclaim what is ours.
To sit in community and sisterhood.
To serve ourselves and each other, rather than men.
To be witnessed as we rise more fully into our power.
So many of you have been asking me for this, craving it in your soul without consciously understanding that you have existed in such a sacred space before, lifetimes ago when the world spoke with deep reverence for and worship of The Mother.
As I contemplated the name, I originally wanted to call the space The Red Tent, which is a reference to one of my favorite novels of the same name, which details the fictionalized story of the minor Biblical character, Dinah, who was raised in a village where the girls and women spent their time of menstruation bleeding inside of an opulent red tent, in which entry was forbidden to men.
But I could not stop thinking of harems and the powerful significance they hold in my heart and mind, especially the grief and sadness that lives within me as I remember the unspoken and unwritten stories of the countless women who were caged within their walls.
I’m sure, by now, you can guess the name of my offering.
Today, I’m inviting you into something new that honors the old.
Welcome to The Harem
A modern-day sacred space for women who are no longer available for diluted sisterhood, watered-down wisdom, or playing small.
A private sanctum for sovereign women reclaiming their sacred power, sensual wisdom, and divine authority.
This is not a course.
It’s not another Zoom support group.
It’s a living, breathing sanctuary.
A private circle.
A portal.
A reclamation.
The Harem is where we gather to unlearn, to remember, and to rise—in our pleasure, our power, our truth, our history herstory.
It’s the most accessible and affordable way to work with me consistently, and it’s designed for women who are ready to be witnessed, stirred, nourished, and initiated into deeper devotion to themselves.
Inside The Harem, you’ll receive:

The one who wants to honor and remember her sisters of the past.
You’re not too much here.
You’re not too late.
And you don’t have to walk alone anymore.
